The Broom Hall

4 Bidford Rd, Broom, Alcester 50 4, UK – 01789 773757

Great food (see the mixed grill below) and also one of the few places in Warwickshire that is a decent pub with a children’s play area! Good kids menu and they even serve my favourite beer - Blue Moon! Highly recommend.

The first time myself, my husband and my daughter visited the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and happy. Everyone made my 6 year old daughter feel like the centre of attention and we have since visited 3 more times in 2 months. The food is absolutely perfect and could not love this place anymore.

Honeybourne Rd, Bidford-on-Avon, Alcester B50 4PD, UK – 01789 772785

Very helpful folk. We stayed over in a camper at short notice. Basic shower and toilet but clean and accessible. We will stay again

A home away from home, fabulous friendly conversations and a wonderful breakfast! Much effort is taken over this family run B&B and we will definitely visit again.

Fosbroke House

4 High St, Bidford-on-Avon, Alcester B50 4BU, UK – 01789 772327

Beautifully maintained house. Lovely room. Tastey traditional full English breakfast. Car park a bit awkward to get in and out.

The Golden Cross

Wixford Rd, Ardens Grafton, Alcester B50 4LG, UK – 01789 772420

We have been a regular visitor to the Golden Cross and have always had good food and service However last night the service in the dining room was very poor. We had to wait 15 minutes for our drinks a further 15 minutes for our food order We were not asked if we required any more drinks and had to ask for our plates to be removed from the table The food was very good however the service was very poor . We made comment to the owner who to be honest did not seemed to be bothered by our comments on service . A disappointing evening at the Golden Cross

Great place. Such nice food. Good country pub.

The Fish at Wixford

Wixford, Alcester, Warwickshire, B49 6DA, Alcester B49 6DA, UK – 01789 778593

We visited on a particularly busy bank holiday weekend in half term and the place was very busy. The quality of food was great the bar staff were very friendly however the small kitchen was overwhelmed and food was taking 2 hours to be served. Unfortunately we weren't warned of this though I heard others being told that after. The bar staff did what they could to expedite our order which arrived after 90 minutes, they then comped our drinks bill (soft drinks). The kids park by the river was fantastic for a pub and the river was picturesque.

The pub decor turns it into a sort of outlandish Wonderland. Arrived at 12 on a Friday. Good beer and food served quickly by very pleasant and welcoming staff. The The Fish seafood platter enjoyed by my wife and I was lovely and more than we could manage to eat. Don't forget to take your camera as it is a place you will want to retain tangible memories of. One helping of the apple and strawberry crumble was enough for both of us to enjoy. We ate inside but there are many picnic tables outside down by the river where there is a lovely children's play area. . A must for a visit while you are in the area. Not far from Stratford on Avon.

The Vineyard Inn

Abbot's Salford, Evesham WR11 8UT, UK – 01386 870217

A very satisfactory Sunday lunch. Good meat choice and excellent variety of vegatables. Served on a very hot plate, which is good. Our party of 4 were well satisfied. No delay in being served - just right.

A lovely pub with a friendly atmosphere. Me and my husband popped in here yesterday for food while we were passing through. Beautiful food and very reasonable priced. We will definitely be going back 😊

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Campsites and Caravan Parks

Abbots Salford Holiday Park

Evesham Rd, Abbot's Salford, Evesham WR11 8UN, UK – 01386 870244

What a great park! Clean and little noise. Grounds kept immaculate and very friendly on site staff (particularly the couple who manage the site). Really impressed. Caravan was really clean on arrival. Meals in the on site restaurant were basic and if any improval was made it would be the quality of food. However, the helpfulness of waiting/bar staff made up for it.

Great views lovely and quiet and a heated swimming pool. Great club house lovely food and people. And it's next to the river so easy for a spot of fishing if that's your thing
